We’re right in the middle of wedding season, so let’s talk about delicious and creative wedding dessert ideas. Want something a little more unusual than just serving wedding cake? Check out some of our favorite wedding reception dessert ideas:
1. Candy Buffets
You know we can’t talk enough about candy buffets. They’re super fun, easy to coordinate around your wedding theme or colors, and tasty! If you want some ideas, check out our candy buffet gallery. Or, if you want to personalize your candy buffet, we have a candy by color feature and a candy by theme feature to help you pick out what candies will best complement your reception. We also have a new candy calculator tool that will tell you exactly how much candy you need for each container you use.
2. Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt Buffet
Here’s another one of our great wedding dessert ideas. An ice cream buffet! Start by choosing what ice cream or frozen yogurt flavors you want to provide. (Tip: you might want to stick with a basic choice of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry since guests will be able to customize their ice cream in different ways.) Next, pick out a variety of toppings for the ice cream such as chopped nuts, chopped candies, baking chips, sprinkles, and much more. Don’t forget the syrups to top it all off!
3. Coffee and Hot Chocolate Bar
This doesn’t have to just be a winter wedding feature! A coffee and/or hot chocolate bar would be a great addition to any wedding reception. Make sure you have different types, flavors, and temperatures (hot or cold) of coffee available, as well as a variety of creamers. If you want to have a hot chocolate bar, too, check out our dark hot chocolate, white hot chocolate, and french vanilla hot chocolate. Then you can pick out toppings such as cinnamon sticks and marshmallows.
4. S’mores Bar
Who doesn’t love s’mores? The perfect combination of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows is sure to make anyone’s mouth water. That’s what makes a s’mores bar at your reception such a great idea, especially if you’re having an outside wedding. You can have different flavors of marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate (milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate). You can even provide a selection of toppings, such as chopped nuts or coconut.
