Whip Up Some Spicy Seasoned Peanuts

As you may know, we offer a huge variety of peanuts, including flavored nuts such as ranch peanuts and barbecue peanuts. We love the unique tastes our flavored peanuts have to offer, but sometimes we like to experiment with our own homemade versions. Lately, we’ve been loving this recipe for chili-lime almonds! It’s yummy, and good for you!

To start, throw 2 cups of raw Spanish peanuts into a bowl. Toss the peanuts in 1 tbsp. of olive oil, 2-3 tsp. of salt and 1 tsp. of brown sugar. Spread the nuts in a single layer on a cookie sheet, and roast them in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes. Transfer the hot nuts back to the bowl and add 1 tbsp. fresh lime juice, a pinch of freshly grated lime zest, 1 tsp. of Tabasco sauce, ½ tsp. of cayenne pepper and ½ tsp. of cumin or chili powder. Toss the peanuts gently in the seasonings, then let them cool completely. Store them in an airtight container if you’re not planning on serving them immediately.

If peanuts aren’t your cup of tea, this recipe also works great with raw pepitas and raw almonds.Give it a whirl and tell us what you think of our creation!
